Riparian Residence focuses on creating a holistic and sustainable housing unit within the rich ecological areas in the Rocky Mountains. This home utilizes passive design in order to provide a lower maintenance residence that responds well to its environment. This home is intended to help alleviate the stresses of everyday life by providing natural daylighting, air circulation, picturesque views, and indoor green spaces.

Located outside of Telluride, Colorado, this home is nestled within a riparian zone along Fall Creek. This home is intended to provide an up-close experience to the delicate ecosystems of the area while reducing human impacts to the wildlife nearby. Riparian Residence utilizes the natural resources of the site to allow for regenerative design. These resources include: water harvesting systems, a bioswale to slow water, passive solar design, and a thermal mass in the home to distribute core temperatures.
